IN BANKRUPTCY.

ESTATE OF R. L. C. WILKINSON. The following is the statement filed with the Official Assignee (Mr J. C-ole-man)bv Reginald L.C. Wilkinson,who was recently adjudged bankrupt:-—"I entered into business in Peel Street, Gisborne. as a hairdresser and tobacconist, having as partner James Scott. We started business in June, 1908. with a capital of .£SO, and bought stock to the extent of £IOO 9s from Messrs Benjamin and Co., then in business in Wellington, to whom we paid the £SO, leaving a debt to them of £SO 9s, agreeing to pay them off as soon as possible. We then bad to get shop fittings, which were obtained from Messrs Mackrel! and Colley, amounting to £l6 13s, which wore paid for in June, 1903, and gasfittings. which work was done by F. Hall and Sons, amounting to £lB 10s 4d. which was also paid. Both accounts were paid out of the business. TVc then carried on the business together until about May. 1909. when Scott wished to withdraw his share, and asked me to pay hint the money he had put into the business, to which I agreed. I then borrowed the sum of £35. which was the amount of his share of the money put into the business. We dissolved partnership on June S. 1909. I carried the business on until about the end of April, 1910. in the meantime paying the £35 out of the business when the bill came due on .January 29th, 1910. with the interest of 10 per cent, added. On April 29th I got married, intending to work the business together with my wife, so that l should then be able to save £2 10s a week that was being paid in wages. My wife and I left Gisborne for Whansaref, am! while awav the bailiff was put into my shop on behalf of Mr J. Oldfield, of Rotorua, who held a judgment summons for the amount of £SO that was uiven against me Ili a divorce case in Auckland, and the business was sold, leaving me without any means of paying my creditors. J have since then been working in Air T. Robinson’s tobacconist shop in Gisborne. 1 am now earning at the rate of £2 10s a week. I wish also to state that I was [laying £2 10s a week as.rent for the shop and also rates amounting to £l6 a year, and' everything, excepting rent, wages ami living expenses for myself was paid to meet mv bills.”-.
