THE JUNIOR CADETS.
A BATTALION PARADE. A parade of the Gisborne Battalion of the Junior Cadets was held at the Victoria Domain yesterday afternoon. There wars a very satisfactory master, 277 cadets and nine officers being on parade. The country cadets came in by train in the morning, excepting those from Patntahi, who were mounted. The following companies were included:—Gisborne, No. 1. 70, under Captain Olsen : No. 2, 68, under Captain Leslie; Mangapapa, 49, Captain Cole: Makauri 21.'Captain Wauehope; Matawhero-Ormond. 31 v Captain McLeod and Lieutenant Marshall; Patutahi, 19, Lieut, Woodward: Waereriga-a-hika 19, Captain Fife The Kaiti school was not- represented, ana the Jo Hapara cadets were dispersed amongst the country companies. Major Kinder was in command, whilst Captain Cowan acted as Adjutant. During the afternoon the cadets were put through battalion drill by Staff Sergeant-Major S. Moore.
