NAPIER SESSIONS. [.pee peess association..! NAPIER, Feb. 27. At tlve Supreme Court Findlay John McLean was sentenced to six months For false pretences. Sir It. Stout leaves, for Wellington to-morrow to preside at the farewell to the Premier., Mr. Justice Sim arrives to-night to carry on the sessions. NELSON CRIMINAL SIT. TINGS. NELSON, Feb. 27. The Supreme' Court sessios commenced this morning, before Mr Justice Chapman, who congratulated the Grand Jury upon the lightness of the calendar. Luke Hobman pleaded guilty to two charges-of pilfering cargo on the steamer Pateena, and was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment on each, the sentences to be concurrent. Arthur Albert Newson, charged with committing an unnatural offence, was found not guilty.
