SITTINGS IN WELLINGTON

[PEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.} WELLINGTON, March 7

The Arbitration Court continued its sittings to-day. It was reported that the dispute between the Wellington Wool and Grain Stores Employees’ Union, of Workers and the employershad been, amicably settled before Mr. Halley, the Conciliation Commissioner. The following are the rates of wages decided upon: Ordinary storemen, Is lid per hour, and Is 3d for those, employed on manure; overtime rates, Is fid and Is 7id respectively. Head storemen- are to be exempted from the operation of the award, and other storemen are to get £2 10s per week. Tbs agreement- was made an award of the Court, which is to have jurisdiction within, the limits oi the city of Wellington. The usual pie.fbrn.ee clause was included, A COMPENSATION CLAIM.

Henry Bartlett brought an action for compensation against P, Hutson and Co., for injury caused to his. left- leg while employed as a navvy by defendants'; From the date of the accident up to Bth October, 1910 claimant received £1 3s Id per week, and lie then got notice from the Ocean Accident Guarantee* Corporation that payment won Id be reduced to 13s Id, but he refused to take it*. .
