OPOTIKI SHEEP FAIR. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their annual ram and ewe fair, held at. Opotiki yards on Friday, February 24th, as under : The sale was held under unfavourable conditions, owing to the continued long spell of dry weather. The attendance was large and representative, and although the yarding was excessive, we made a clearance of our very large entry. The following prices were realised : Ewes, 4 and oyr-old, 8s 6d to 12s ; ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, 11s 6d to 12s 6d; ewes, 2-tooth, 11s 6d to 14s; wethers 4 and 6-tooth’ 11s 6d to 12s 9d; wethers, 2tooth, 10s 6d to 11s; lambs, from os to 7s; rams, full-mouth Romneys, £2 10s to £3 3s'; rams, 4-tooth Romneys, £2 10s to £4; rams, 2-tooth Romneys, £2 10s to £4 14s: rams, 2-tooth Lincolns, £4 to £4 4s. (The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report upon the sheep fair as follows: —We yarded SCQO, and sold 2000 of mixed kinds at prices which can 1 e considered satisfactory. There was a fair attendance of buyers but not anticipating to-day’s rain, they held back somewhat in bidding. We quote: Two-tooth ewes, 11s 3d to 14s; 2-tooth wethers, to 10s 8d; 4-tooth ewes, 14s; old ewes, 4s Id to- 8s; lambs, 5s Gd to 7s; rams (Lincoln and Romney) £2 to £'3 ss.
