EAST COAST POLO ASSOCIATION.

TOE ANNUAL SPORTS

The annual sports of the East Coast Polo Association were held on Saturday at the Polo ground, Buslimere. The weather was all that could be desired, and consequently there was a large attendance, and on interesting programme’was'provided. W. McKenzie was the most' successful competitor, winning the Ladies’ Bracelet and tin Polo Pony Test. The following are the results : ■ Polo Ball Race.—First heat: E. W. Nairn’s Toby, 1. Three competed. Second heat: J. R. Murphy’s Spring Chicken, 1. Five competed. Third heat :W. C. A. Mackenzie's Vanity, 1. Six competed. Fourth heat: McKay Campbell’s Metcalfe, 1. Final: J. R. Murphv’s Spring Chicken, 1;-W. C. A. Mackenzie’s Vanity, 2; E. Nairn’s Toby 3. Bending Competition —First heat: G. H. Black’s Rose, 1. Five competed. Second heat: G. M. .Reynolds’ Shem, 1. Five comneted. Third heat: R. K. Sherratt’s Lady Betty, 1. Three competed. Fourth heat: W. Wright’s Cake Walk, 1. Five competed. Fifth heat: H. A. Russell’s Swallow, 1. Four competed. Final: G. M. Reynolds’ Shem, 1; G. H. Black’s Rose, 2; R. K. Sherratt’s Lady Betty, 3. Flag Race.—First heat: FI. White, 1. Three competed. G. H. Black was the first to finish, but was disqualified because he failed to cross the line on one occasion when bringing back the flags. Second heat: T. Sherratt’s Tamata, 1. Three competed. Third heat: P. Sherratt’s Molly, 1. Four competed. Fourth heat': Wright’s Cake Walk, 1. Three con-meted. ~ Final: P. Sherratt’s Molly, 1: Wright’s Cake Walk, 2; T. Sherratt’s Tamata, 3. Ladies’ Bracelet (Thread the Needle Race).—First heat: Mrs. T. Sherratt’s Tamata, 1; J. Monckton’s Ngaio, 2. Six competed. Second heat: Mrs. R.. R. Sherratt’s Sinbacl, 1; Miss M. Sherratt’s Taihoa, 2. Four competed. Third heat: Mrs. W. Mackenzie’s Vivien, 1; Mrs. H. A. Russell’s Swallow, 2. Five competed. Final: Mrs. W. Mackenzie’s Vivien, I: Mrs. T. Sherratt’s Tamata, 2: Miss’M. Sherratt’s Taihoa, 3. Polo Pony Test—First heat: W. Mackenzie’s Lassie, 1. Four competed. Second heat: E. \\. Nairn’s Tabby, 1. Four competed. Third heat: N.^ Sherratt’s Nora, 1. Four competed. Fourth heat: G. M. Reynolds’ Shem, 1. Four competed. R. R, Sherratt’s Linda finished first, but was disqualified for turning on the wrong side of a post. Final: W. Mackenzie’s Lassie, 1: G. M. Reynolds’ Shem, 2; E. .W. Nairn’s Tabbv, 3. ' Mrs. J. Murphy then presented the numerous handsome prizes. THE POLO CUP. At 5 p.m. the Polo Cun was decided at the Park racecourse, and resulted as follows. The race was over a distance of four furlongs for a trophy presented bv Messrs. S. McLernon and Son : R. Reynolds’ br m Fashion Plate, 12.7 (Mr. W. L. Rutledge) ... 1 w. C. A. Mackenzie’s b m Vivien, 12.7 (Mr. FI. A. Russell) 2 R. Iv. Murobv’s rn m Lady Betty, 12.7 (Own er) ... 3 Spring Chicken 12.7 (owner), Queen of Hearts (owner), Rat Trap 12.7, car. 12.12 (owner), Mystery 12.7, car 12.11 (Mr. B. Bennett)', Scarlet Runner 12.7 (owner), Tamata (owner) also started. Won by three lengths, with two lengths separating second and third. Time, 52 4-ssec.
