The Union Co/s Tarawera is due to leave Napier for Gisborne this evening, and should arrive early to-morrow morning. She will be tendered at 6 a.m. and 10°a.m., proceeding about noon to Auckland. The Union Co/s Monowai returns from Auckland, via Tokomaru Bay, to-morrow afternoon, and the Tuatea will connect on arrival and at 7 p.m._ The Monowai resumes her passage to Napier and the South later in the evening. ; The schooner Awanui, which is at present discharging timber at the wharf, is expected to complete her discharge today. and will probably sail this evening. The Union Co/s Ivowhai sailed from Greymouth at 6 a.m. On Sunday for Dunedin, Tiraaru, Oamaru, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, and should arrive here early. . The auxiliary schooner Waiapu sailed for Auckland last evening. The auxiliary schooner Orete arrived from Auckland, via East Coast bays, yesterday morning. She was berthed at the groviie, and there discharged a quantity of gunpowder and gelignite, later coming up to the wharf. Leaving Auckland on Wednesday, February 22nd, she proceeded to Awakina. When proceeding Cape Runaway later she met the Kaeo, and took overcarried cargo from her, next calling at Hick's Bay. Leaving there she came on to Te Araroa and Port Awanui, reaching the latter on Tuesday, 7th inst. Waipiro Bay and Tokomaru Bay were next worked, and the Orete left the lastnamed on Sunday, arriving here at 5 a.m. vesterday. At present it is expected that the Orete will sail on the return trip to Auckland, via East Coast bays, on Thursday evening. The Union Co/s Squall is due from Auckland, via Tologa Bay, to-morrow. The following were the shipments from Gisborne by the Tyser liner Muritai, which sailed for Napier on Saturday:— From Williams and Kettle, Ltd.: 39 casks casings, 84 casks tallow, 68 casks pelts. 19 sacks ox tongues, 10 cases kidneys, 9034 carcases mutton. 4524 carcases lamb, 949 ciuarters beef, 1030' pieces mutton, 397 bales wool. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s Karamea is due here for Home loading on Monday next. She will be followed on Saturday,"2sth. by the same company’s Rangatira, which will also load for Home markets.

The Westport Harbor Board’s engineer is to report on the cost of constructing a patent slip at Westnort. It is proposed to place the slip in the large floating basin now under construction. A rough estimate of the cost of a slip to take vessels of the size of the Aralvurais £24,000.

The Kaipara Steamship Co/s steamer Aotea. 263 tons gross. 315 i.h.p. 10 knots, is to be offered for sale by public auction at the rooms of R,. C. Carr and Son, Swanson Street, Auckland, on Wednesday next, at noon. The vessel is said to be in “good order, and can be inspected afloat in Kaipara Harbor. BY TELEGRAPH. NAPIER, March 13. BLEEP, March 13. Arrived, at 2 p.m., Elimaroa, from Hobart, with an English mail. AUCKLAND, March 13. Sailed, 6.30 p.m., Squall, for Gisborne, via Tologa Bay; 5.45 p.m., Maheno, for Sydney.
