THE AUSTRALASIAN TEAM.
rPEB PEESS ASSOCIATIONS WELLINGTON, March 13. The cable message from Sydney, giving the selection of the Australasian team for the Festival of Empire sports, is incomplete, and therefore- a little misleading. No mention is made of M. E. , Champion, the, Auckland, swimmer, who is to join- the team. His passage has been booked by the Corinthic, leaving Wellington on March 23rd. A strong effort- is also- being made to send R. Opie,- the Christchurch sprinter, and it is expected that he will go. The arrangement is, that only one competitor from. Australasia will compete in each event, the selection of the candidate to be decided by a trial about three days before the event. AUSTRALIAN CADETS FOR ENGLAND. (.UNITED PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT.J (Received March 14, 12.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 13. The different country towns are arranging for each one to send one cadet to the Coronation. The expenses are to be raised by private subscriptions.
