EMPIRE TRADE MARKS.
ASSOCIATION FORMED IN LONDON. TASMANIA AND THE MOTHERLAND. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.; /(Received March 17, 1 a.m.) LONDON, March 16. A meeting of manufacturers and merchants, under the auspices of the Empire League, at the Lord Avebury presiding, formed an Empire Trade Mark Association. Mr McCall in warmly supporting the proposal, said that consumers were entitled to know whether or not the goods were produced within the Empire. Tasmania always gave preference to the Motherland. His instructions were not to buy outside merely for the sake of 5, 10 ov 15 per cent, advantage. (Cheers.)
