The. Noav Zealand Co.’s well-known steamer ' Papanui, Avhioh had a varied experince at Melbourne with the port, officials not long since, is to steam lroin Japan to Sydney preparatory to setting out on a voyage to London with passengers for tlie Coronation.

It will be remembered that the Papanui got ashore at Tasmania on a voyage from London to New Zealand, and that her' oAAmers, the New Zealand Shipping Co., finding her seriously damaged., disposed of her. She was taken to Melbourne, AA-here temporary repairs A\'ere effected and a question arose there as to AA’hether slie Vas in a seaAvorthy condition for a voyage^to Japan. The vessel got 'dear of Melbourne, ho\A r ever, and arrh-ed at Nagasaki after a quick trip. There she Avas repaired l at. about two-thirds of th cost mentioned in the Australian tenders.

Messrs Morgan and Co., of Bridge Street, are iioav the Sydney agents for the Papanui, and they have been advised that the Papanui has already left Nagasaki for Australia. She is to sail from Sydney on April 8, and from Melbourne on April 15, with passengers for the Coronation. These M ill be all “oneclass,” and as the steamer is timed to arrive ivell ahead of the big celebration, if. is anticipated that, her accommodation will he in great demand. The Papanui, which was one of the most- popular of the NeAA’ Zealand Shipping Company’s steamers in her time, is to voyage to London via th Suez Canal.
