SPORTS AT GERALDINE

The St. Patrick’s Day holiday was mo’re fully observed yesterday by picnics, etc." The Waim-ate races to-day were an attraction, also the sports at Geraldine. Special interest was given to. those sports by the presence of Holway, Trembatli, and McLachlan, each making fine performances. Holway attempted to lower the 140yds record of lUsec, but took 13 4-ssec, but the track had an uphill rise- in it. Trembath was greatly applauded for doing half a mile in Imin 53 4-ssoc, but thetrack, when measured, Avas found to, be 74 yards short. There Avere good fields in nearlv all events, and the, meeting passed off aa-011 in the presence of a record attendance..
