OAMARU POTATO CROPS.
the: grub pest. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! DUNEDIN, March 21. A “Star” reporter to-day was shown some Oamaira potatoes fairly riddled by the grub now ravaging the North Otago district. These potatoes c-ame in five truck -consignments by rail to .Dunedin, and are now lying at one of the railway sheds, where they were originally packed, to be- shipped in centals -to Rio de Janeiro, but were condemned for shipment, and •■ultimately found their way to Dupnedin. The grub is very active, and is colored white, with a black head. Specimens, with cocoons, have been forwarded to Mr T. W. Ivirk Government biologist.
