Vf The Government Meteorologist issued J the following weather report and forecast ij this evening:—Rain has fallen in many !1 parts of the country. Freshes are reported in the rivers on the west coast of the |\ South Island. Moderate to strong northerly winds have prevailed northward of Westport and Kaikoura, strong wester■i lies changing to southerlies elsewhere. j but with decreasing force. Present indih cations are for cloudy and changeable 1 weather, with rain in many parts. Mo- | derate to strong westerly and southerly vwinds will probably prevail. Barometric pressure is unsteady, but probably rising j in the south and elsewhere# after from 10 to 16 hours.
