PERSONAL NOTES.
The. Mayor (Mr. AY. D. Lysnar) was a passenger for south by the s.s. Alonowai last night. While absent from Gisborne, Mr. Lysnar will visit Napier, Feilding, Palmerston North, and Napier, and will probably return to Gisborne next AA’ednes-day. Mr. Duncan Hepburn will, in all probability, be a candidate for election to represent the. Cook County on the Harbor Board at the coming election. Judge Jones left for AYellington last night to attend a- conference of Native Land Court Judges, to be heed there tills week Mr. G. F. Wilson, of the-local staff of the U:S,S. Co-., has been-transferred to Dunedin, and liis place here will be filled by Air. J. Doyle. In connection with the coming Harbor Board election, Air. A. M. Lewis, of Te Karaka, lias intimated his intention of seeking election as a representative of the Waikohu County. Air. AV. LLssant Clayton, with Airs. Clayton, will probably leave town today on a. visit to AVaikaremoana, and will be. aiwav for about a week. The Horn A. T. Ngata, AI.P., was a through passenger from Tokcmaru to Wellington by the s.s. Monowni last niglit. _ Mr G. 8.. Hull, of the firm of Alessrs AVatki.ns, Hull, and AVheeler, accountants and auditors, who lias been in Gisborne for a few days, went south by the s.s. Monowai last niglit. Mr. Samuel Atoms, late general secretary of the Gisborne branch of the Y ALC.A.j is to leave for Auckland by the Tarawera this morning. While in Auckland Air. Morris will be the guest of the Auckland Association. Later he leaves for Wanganui, where lie will visit Mr. A. Hinds, with whc.ni lie was associated in Sydney. Air. Hinds is now general' secretary of the Wanganui Association. Air. B. Lenihan, who for the past three vears .lias acted as telegraphist at the Waiplro Post Office, lias been appointed postmaster at Tuparoa. and takes up hw new position at the end of this month. He will he succeeded at Wainiro by Air. Purcell, of Rotorua. . Air. AV. H Skitch, of Tuparoa, left bv. the Monowai last night on a holiday trip to the South.
