The; Palmer and other rivers are in flood. Telegraphic communication is badly interrupted. There have been several railway washaways. Cairns reports 18 inches of rain in 24 hours. All parts of the district are flooded. « , A TREMENDOUS RAINFALL. (Received April 3, 12.15 a.m,) BRISBANE, April 2= Phenomenal rain has fallen in 6ome districts. Cairns reports that the river and creeks are -in high flood, and still rising. The railway is inundated. Several washaways have occurred and bridges have been damaged. At Kurand'a 42in. of rain fell in 48 hours. The total rainfall for the three months is Bft sin. Much damage has been done ,to the cane crops.
