CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE.

f pee PEERS ASSOCIATION.] EKETAHUNA, April 6. The Haunui correspondent of the “Eketahuna Express” reports that a severe gale blew there on Tuesday last. Mr E. Jewi fit’s new residence was considerably damaged, the wind blowing pieces of timber through several large windows. The gale freshened up log fires on one property, and these spread at Kent- Terrace, The Ranch, and Otapawa the residences being on y saved hv strenuous efforts. The damage was* confined to firewood and fencing. One settler was temporarily blinded.
