“LLOYDS WEEKLY.”
THE MAKING OF A GREAT PAPER
The proprietors of “Lloyds AYeeklv News” have on foot a scheme by which it will be possible for a large number of people in the Antipodes to see the well-known film “From Forest to Fireside,” which depicts the making of Britain’s premier weekly newspaper from start to finish.
Mr C. Spencer, of Spencer’s Theatrescope Company, one or the largest cinematograph firms in Australia, is pioneering the scheme. The first series of exhibitions will be -given at Perth, where the “Forest to Fireside” film will be shown at the Empire and Vies Picture Halls for seven days from March 18th. Afterwards the film will go to Kalgoorlie, C-oolgardie and other centres in that district. About March 20t-h t(for one week) Adelaide will be able to see the film at the Empire Tlieatre ; and the film will afterwards be exhibited in the Broken Hill district. Melbourne will have its chance to see the film on March 19th, and the week following at Olympia, one of the largest picture halls in the world. “Lloyds News” will afterwards be seen in tlie Ballarat district and other Victorian centres.
Sydney will be able, during the week from March 21st, to see this remarkable film at the Lyceum. About- the end of March the film will be shown at Brisbane, and then at Rockhampton, Toowoomba, and other outlying towns. Early in April the film will be shown at Hobajt and later all the chief centres in New Zealand will be visited.
The film is a most interesting production, depicting, as it does, the- entire process of making wood-pulp paper from the felling of the. trees to the finished article, and giving also a very clear idea- of how an up-to-date newspaper is produced. The finale of the film is an invitation from Messrs Lloyds to all Antipode,-ins coming to London to visit “Llo.yds News.” This is an invitation which ought not to be overlooked by visitors to the Old -Country'; for a most interesting hour can be spent in* the homo of such a newspaper.
