ACTION OF SOUTHLAND EDUCATION BOARD.

INVERCARGILL, April 7. The Education Board to-day carried a motion, of which notice had been given, to the effect that, consistent with the Board’s policy, and in view of the increased facilities for study, all positions in the Board’s service held by uncertificated. teachers be advertised for fresh application on April Ist, 1912, exemption being granted to- —(a) teachers who have now been more than two years in the service; (b) teachers who have obtained a. partial D pass since January 1909; (c) teachers who hold licenses to teach; (d). teachers who spent two years in a. training college between January, 1909, and April, 1912, and teachers under grade y. The ..Board further resolved that similar action, be taken on April Ist in each succeeding year.
