THE CORONATION CONTINGENT.
REPRESENTATIVE FROM GISBORNE.
Col.-Sergt J. V. Scott, of the F, Company 9th Wellington Regiment, who- is to be Gisborne's representative in- the military contingent from New Zealand at the Coronation, will leave Gisborne on Sunday next, and finally sail for London from Wellington by the E.M.S. Arawa on April 20th. Uponmaking inquiries. Col.-Sergt. Scott has ascertained* that he has to report to theHigh Commissioner in London during the first week in June. If he so desires lie will be able to be attached. to a regular regiment for training while in England. and verv likelv will do a course- at Aldershot with one of the infantry regiment; stationed there, and perhaps; in the brigade commanded by Lieut.-Col. Davis New Zealand's late Inspectorlien real A PRESENTATION. On Saturday night Col.-Sergt Scott was made the recipienot of. a handsome travelling rug from the joiners, mill, and yard employees of Mr. Geo. Smith, builder and contractor. _ Mr. F R. Hnl was in the chair, while Mr. A. J. Hodgson. shop foreman, made the- presentation. his remarks being most eulogistic of their guesu. Messrs J.. Dow. accountant, and A. Ackery also spoke, and, after Col.-Sergt. Scott had suitably responded, his health was enthusiastically honored.
