CALCUTTA, April 7

Official information states that savage tribesman at S'adija, Assam, have murdered Mr Noel Williamson, a political officer. No specific political significance is attached to the murder. (Received April 9, 5.5 p.m.) CALCUTTA, April 8. Mr Williamson, Dr. Gregorson and 50 coolies were ascending Dihong river unarmed, on a friendly mission. They were suddenly attacked and all massacred excepting two natives. Two hundred military police have been despatched. ' (Received April 10, 1 a.m.)

CALCUTTA, April 9. Mr Williamson’s assailants were 1200 Abar savages.
