Two Icelanders could be seen on shore, and the crew tried to get into communication with them by means of bladders, which were thrown overboard with wires attached. Eventually one of the bladders was washed ashore, and the Icelanders hitched on to it a rope, which was at once hauled back .to the trawler. This was fixed to the rigging, and one. by \ one the crew reached the land. .
