THE RUCBY CAME.

CLUB FORMED AT OTOKO

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A large and enthusiastic meeting was held at Otoko on Wednesday last to discuss the advisability of forming a football club. Mr. S. Carlyon was voted to the chair. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. W. Griffiths, to form a club, to be known as the Otoko Football Club. Mr. C. E. Armstrong was unanimously elected as president. A large number of vice-presidents u T ere also elected. Mr. A. Coombe was elected to fill the position of secretary and treasurer, and Mr. H. Francis was chosen as the club’s captain for the ensuing season. A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman brought a very successful meeting to a close. '

THE ASSOCIATION CAME.

OPENING OF SEASON

To-day the Y.M.C.A. Athletic (seniors and juniors) journey to Makauri to open the season with matches against County, on the Polo Ground. The seniors will be represented by Webster, Gardner, Cowell, Holland, Oates, Woods, Neakle, Forge, Greene, Sumners, and Taylor. The brake will leave Y.M.C.A. Rooms at 2.15 sharp. Any players desirous of joining the club are requested to communicate with the secretary, A. Greene. The following is a mixed team of Y.M.C.A. and High School players play a friendly game against the County Club at Makauri to-day at 3 o’clock —Little, Renwick, Gardiner, Falkiner,

Hoare, Fox, Ahuriri, Lewis, Fryer, <capt), Hay, Menzies, Frazer, Fox, Ovendon, Wallen, Edwards. Team to meet at Y.M.C.A. rooms at 1.30. All players must wear white- shirt with maroon sash.
