CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.

ANOTHER REMAND. James Kerr Easton appeared, on remand, on a charge of assaulting James Blaoe, causing actual bodily harm, in the Magistrate’s Court, yesterday. His Worship the Mayor was the presiding J.P. With a view to preferring a more serious charge of manslaughter against the accused, Sergeant Hogan asked leave to withdraw the former charge. As Mr. Burnard, who appeared for the accused, raised no objection to this proposal, the application was granted. The charge of manslaughter was then preferred against the accused. Sergeant Hogan applied for a further remand until Friday, 21st inst. This was granted, bail being fixed at the same rate as formerly.
