WEDDING BELLS.

A wedding of much local interest took place at Holy Trinity Church yesterday afternoon, at 2.30 p.m., when Miss * Lucie Constance Carter, eldest daughter of Mrs A. Carter, “Lambton.” Childers Road, was married to Mr'Welsford Lillicrap Carter. The church had been prettily decorated with toi-toi and shaded bamboo grasses and white flowers. The service was choral, the bride having been a of the choir for fume years. Mr E. A\ . Sidebottom presided at the organ. A large congregation of friends was present at the ceremony. The Rev. L. Dawson Thomas officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr Fred Parker, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, wore a most becoming toilette of white satin, the corsage being trimmed with orange blossoms and old rose point. A silver girdle, which had been •worn by her grandmother, encircled her waist. She wore a tulle embroidered veil, and her bouquet was composed of white tuberoses and maidenhair fern. She also wore the bridegroom’s gift of a handsome pearl and turquoise pendant. The bridesmaids were Miss Ina Carter, who was attired in a pink crystalline frock, with white satin mob hat trimmed with pink roses. She wore the bridegroom s gift, of a smilax pendant of pearls and amethysts. Miss Mary Carter, sister of the bride, looked well in pale green crystalline and a white hat with pink roses, the bridegroom’s present being a pearl and turquoise pendant. Miss Dorothy Berry, cousin of the bride, was daintily attired in white niousselaine dc soie. Hex' Hat was white silk in mob shape, "lined- ‘ with lace and trimmed with pink roses. The bridegroom’s present to her was a pearl brooch. The bridesmaids carried pretty bouquets in tones of pink. Mr Berry, cousin of the bride, was best man. After the service a reception was held by Mrs Carter at “Lamb-ton,” Childers road. Airs Carter received her guests wearing a cream serge costume faced with creme poplin and trimmed with black military braid. A black Miss Gibbs hat with black‘and white shaded roses was also worn. «Mrs Berry, the bride’s aunt, wore a. gown of blue shot silk, black bait, with gold embroidery and black feathers." Airs George Carter, heliotrope crepoline frock, handsome lace scarf and toque en suite. Aliss Brooke-Taylor wore a coronation blue Shantung costume, cream hat with black and blue silk trimmings. Aliss H. Brooke-Taylor, green cloth costume, brown hat. Aliss Allen (a visitor) wore a linen costume in vieux roso shade, a black Aliss Gibbs hat with feather mount. Airs F. Parker wore a., long black velvet coat, black toque with pheasant wing mount, and also wore a white feather boa. Airs A. Rees, brown mousellaine de soie brown straw hat. Airs Pavitit. fawn Harris tweed costume, brown toque. Airs R, Crawford, pale pink crcpoline, m-oam hat trimmed with pink and blue ribbon. Airs- -J. Burke, bodice trimmed with jet embroidery, aeroplane blue toque. Airs Carmichael. navy blue costume, black hat with ostrich feathers. Mrs Parvis, grey floral .muslin with touches of mauve, cream hat with black and white robbon mount. Aliss Higgins, navv blue costume, emerald . green straw hat, trimmed with brown and green ribbon. Mrs Harvey, blue cloth costume, with fawn stripe, dark green liat. Miss Sandall, brown costume, brown toque. Airs H. AI. Porter, brown checked silk, trimmed wifth brown silk, brown straw and chiffon hat. with vieux rose ribbon and small pink flowers. Airs G. J. Winter, navy blue costume red felt with black wing mount. Miss Booth, grey -striped silk, black hat. Airs A. F. Kennedy, creme cloth costume, with black stripe, with- which was worn a black seal stole, cream straw hat lined with black velvet and trimmed with pink- -roses and black ribbon bow mount. Airs Agnew-Brown, grey chiffon taffeita frock, black plumed hat. Aliss Alyra Brown, grey cashmere frock, the sleeves' and corsage made in one of grey satin, small closely-fitting toque in white straw and lace and black wing mount. • Aliss Townley, prune-coloured frock, white satin hat, lined with black velvet and trimmed with black wing mount. Airs Townley, black brocaded silk costume, purple toque with mauve osprey. Aliss Roberts, brown tweed, costume, brown furs and brown hat, with brown wings. Airs Dawson-Thomas, floral striped silk, hat of cream chiffon, with floral garniture. Mr and Airs Welsford Carter leave this morning by‘the Hauroto for Auckland, on their honeymoon . trip. The bride’s travelling costume is of green cloth with green tweed hat. Messrs Williams and Kettle presented the bride (who lias been a member of their staff for some time) with a case of cutlery, with a silver engraving on the case.
