RAIN RECOMMENCES. The 'weather on Saturday was brilliantly fine, but yesterday morning broke dull and cloudy, and so conditions remained throughout the day. During last, evening there were one or two light showers, and half an hour after midnight rain fell somewhat heavily. HEAVY RAIN AT CHRISTCHURCH. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 22. A soaking rain is driving in steadily from, the north-east.' The conclusion of the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting has been postponed until Thursday. Ail out of door sports have been postponed. RAIN IN SOUTH CANTERBURY. TIMARU, April 22. Tihe district has had a . good rain, which still continues. It is too late to do much good to the feed, but will make ploughing easier. Sonne farmers have had to use six horses in a two-furrow plough, the ground being so hard.
