[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.J WELLINGTON, April 25. The Stock Exchange, in consequence of reports-which have appeared in the local press from New Plymouth to the effect that Taranaki petroleum shares have recently been selling at par, has issued a statement that for a considerable time past selling quotations at this Exchange have been from 14s 6d t ol4s. A STATEMENT FROM NEW PLYMOUTH. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 25. In reference to a Press telegram from Wellington to-day quoting Taranaki Petroleum Co.’s shares on the Stock Exchange there at from 14s 6d to 14s, the' “Daily News” publishes authoritative information from the chairman and secretary of the company to the effect- that annlicaticn was received today for the transfer of a parcel of shares at twenty shillings, the same price as stated in the telegram sent from New Plymouth about a week ago.
