WEDDING.

JOHNSTON—YOUNG.

On Thursday last at Trinity Church, Timaru a jprctty wedding took place, when Miss Muriel Young, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. D. Young, was married to Mr Robert Johnston, of the New Zealand, Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s staff, Gisborne. The church was beautifully decorated by the friends of the bride, and the service was conducted by the Rev. T. Stinson. The bride, who was given away by her father, -wore a beautiful trained gown ■f white duchesse satin with yoke and sleeves of. tucked chiffon, lace and silver cord and tassels, an embroidered tulle veil and coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white roses, sweet pens, friesias and maidenhair fern. Her attendants were Miss MeGallon, Miss V. Bowie, Miss Kathleen Young, and Miss Doris ltennie, who all wore most dainty gowns of white charmense satin, with overdresses of white silk net, large picture hats of pansycoloured velvet. They carried bouquets of heliotrope and white cosmos. Misses McOahon and Bowie received plain gold bangles from the bridegroom, whilst Misses. Young and Rennie received pearl pendants on gold chains.

After the ceremony a big reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Elizabeth street. The bride’s mother received her guests wearing black chiffon taffeta, trimmed with black embroidery and touches of gold, black plumed hat. Mr and Mrs R. Johnston left later in the day en route for their future home in Gisborne, the bride wearing a tailor-made in brown Harris tweed with hat to correspond.
