[PIB PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, May 9.,

The Government Meteorologist this evening issued the following weather summary and forecast: —Strong easterly winds and showery weather have been experienced northward of East Cape and Kawhia, but moderate and variable winds elsewhere. Fogs and much ha/.e were reported to-day, but the weather has been fine in most parts of the country. The barometer has fallen evei'ywhere, and especially in the far north. Present indications are for a falling barometer everywhere. Pain is probable northward of Kawhia and Castle Point, and increasing haze and cloudiness may precede a- change. Showery in other parts of the country. Strong easterly winds are probable northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and increasing easterly and northerly winds elsewhere.
