Many London pressmen interviewed Mr. McGowen, Premier of New South Wales. He assured them that the result of the referendumi was not a slap in the face to the Federal or State Governments. He was confident that if there •was another election in either the. Commonwealth or State a Labor Government would bei returned. His opinion of the failure of the referendum was that it largely due to the people’s cautl desire to 1 understand more tliofl the questions involved before mal change.
