DEATHS' BY DROWNING. LFEK riIESS ASSOCIATION^ AUCKLAND, May 10. A boy, 15 years of age, son o'f Mr. Jesty, a settlor of Ness Vahey, lias been missing for a weak. Search parties found the body m a deep wake;-hole. At the inquest,a verdict of accidental death by drowning was returned.

DANGEROUS “RED INDIANS.” INVERCARGILL, May 10. The dangers of mimic Red Indians were forcibly demonstrated to several North Invercargill parents this afternoon. For some weeks past, despite parental warnings a number of small boys, ranging from 10 to 12 years, have been indulging in redskin battles, using bows and arrows and shields. From time to time minor injuries have been inflicted. and to-day a boy named Frank Mussen, son of a local newspaper man, was struck in the eye by an arrow, and a dangerous wound inflicted. During a second-grade football match to-day a young man named Lilley had his right- leg broken below the knee.
