“ OUT OF THE FRYINC-PAN.”
CURATIVE SPRAY DESTROYS APPLES. CUNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.! MELBOURNE, May 11. Dr. Jean White and Professor Ewart, of Melbourne University, are believed to have discovered the cause of titter pit in apples-, which is supposed to be the result of a certain spray used: to destroy codlin motli. Scientists are cautious, but sufficient reliance is placed on the discovery to justify the postponement of the Federal and State investigations, on which it- was intended to expend £IO,OOO for the prevention of bitter pit, which would mean a saving of a million to apple growers.
