POLITICAL NOTES.
The Greymouth correspondent of the “Christchurch Press” .telegraphs that the Parliamentary election campaign Ur Westland has already commenced, and Messrs T. E. Y. Seddon and H. L. Michel are hard at work canvassing.; The contest promises to be one of the longest and most bitter on record. Mr. W. H. Herries, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty, has gone to Hokitika, where he will deliver a political address. On his way back to Wellington lie will speak at Christchurch. Mr. James Allen, M.P., will deliver a political address at HamitJon (Waikato) on the 9th insit., and at TaumarunuLon the following evening.
