A SUDDEN SQUALL.
CAPSIZE OF A SMALL CRAFT. THREE LADS’ NARROW ESCAPE. [PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, May 15. Three boys, Cecil Ellison, aged 15 years, William Curlew, aged 14, and Alfred Hart, aged 14, were capsized in the harbor' at 7 p.m. yesterday. They were returning from Day’s Bay in a 12ft scow. When about half a mile from the boat harbor a sudden squall capsized the boat. Ellison got his companions on the bottom of the capsized craft, and started to swim ashore. In the meantime the notice of the harbor officials was attracted by calls from the boat. The two lads there were picked up. A search was then made for Ellison, who, severely handicapped by knickers and a sweater, had gamely struggled on for assistance. He was later picked up, suffering from cramp. His brave action will be brought under the Humane Society’s notice.
