CORRESPONDENCE.
THE MUNICIPAL BY-ELECTION
[TO THE EDITOR.]
Sir, —May I hope for the courtesy of being allowed to answer “Ratepayer” with regard to Mr. Anderson’s qualifications P
Whilst I would give him a measure of credit, as being an. interested factor •in municipal matters, ;vet I cannot help, crossing swords w.tih him in his feeble efforts to try and thwart the Borough vote from this aspiring candidate. It is evident tnat wliceveir fills the •much-coveted post will' be sent there with the privilege of having as weighty a say in the affairs of the Borough as the Mayor or any of the Councillors, yet “Ratepayer” would at the outset question the. fact of Air. Anderson being allowed to express his views re the sewerage. I do not wish to debate his remarks any further, nor do I wish to indulge in any personalities, but I would advise my friend—rest any further effort on his part at writing may be judged only as the result of bias —to endeavor to let the public think upon sane and nonparty lines. —I am, etc. ANOTHER RATEPAYER.
