The Union Co/s Squall, after a passage from Auckland lasting just twelve hours short of a week, arrived at the wharf shortly after 6 o'clock yesterday morning. She had a rough passage, the details of which appear in another column. Her cargo consists of the folloivmg: — 81 sacks flour, 75 1001 b bags flour, 260 501 b bags flour. 183 pieces timber, 16 sacks sugar, 140 561 b bags sugar, 100 boxes soap, 10 cases turpentine, 75 cases benzine, 28 doors, 50 boxes candles, 1 motor car, 1 Landau, 10 sacks shooks, 23 cases tea, 21 cases fruit, 10 boxes prunes, 170 bags lime, 60 bags cement, and transhipments ex Morayshire, and a large quantity of sundries. On discharging the Squall returns to Auckland. The Union Co/s Waipori is expected to arrive here from Newcastle with a cargo of coal to-morrow. After discharging a portion of her cargo here she will proceed to Tokomaru Bay and Napier. . The Maoriland Shipping Co/s steamer Holmdale is expected to arrive from the south at an early date. The Union Co/s Tarawera returns from the South to-morrow morning, the launch being timed to connect at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The Tarawera resumes her passage for Auckland a little later. The Union Co/s produce steamer Wairuna is due from southern ports either to-morrow or the next day. The Union Co/s Kowhai remains at Napier until this evening, when she is expected to sail for Gisborne. She arrives to-morrow, and after discharging will be despatched for Greymoutli. Messrs. Richardson and Co/s Ripple completed her discharge for the south yesterday morning. The Westport Coal Co/s Regulus is due here from Westport this morning with a cargo of coal. Mr. Boardman is at present relieving Mr. E. W. Hennings, who is away on sick leave.
The auxiliary schooner Orete took her departure for Auckland, via East Coast bays, yesterday, after having been wea-ther-bound for over a week. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND, May 22. Arrived, at 7.15 a.m..
