POWER HOUSE SITE
QUESTION TO BE REOPENED
In the course of the meeting of the Council, last night the Mayor referred to the alteration of the site of the new power-house, and urged that the. site suggested, by himself should be retained. The ©xtra 'distance to be travelled' by the change suggested would amount to a great deal in a year. . The paltry cost of putting the ground in order was not worth considering. The site of the power-house and destructor should be placed as near the centre of electrical gravity as possible. He hoped that one of the new councillors would give notice of motion to revert to the original site. < Cr Collins said' ihe would give notice of motion to that effect in order to reopen the matter, . , , , The Mayor said lie had' brought tins matter under the . notice of councillors, as he considered it of very great importance. ' . The discussion, then terminated, and the Council'then went into committee, to consider the sewerage tenders.
