The steamer Grayton Grange has arrived from Liverpool. Her passengesr number fifty, and practically all are im>migrants, £iid include 1 three families. Thirteen are miners bound for the West Coast and three are described'as farm laborers. The rest of the male immigrants are distributed under the following heads: Tailor, cabinetmaker, patternmaker, turner, engineer, cameramaker, carter, butcher and one or two other trades. ■
CHRISTCHURCH SHEEP DOG. TRIALS.
CHRISTCHURCH, May 27. At the Christchurch sheep dog trials on Saturday the huntaway event was won by Mr H. G. Water’s Bob (last year’s winner). R. W. Trotter s Quid took second, F. Richardson s Roy thud, J. K. Forrester’s Ben fourth, and J. W. Clarke’s Gael, fifth.
