FIFTY POUNDS REWARD.
FOR STOPPING RUNAWAY TRAIN. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATIONS WELLINGTON, May 29. The Government has presented Mr R. Claude, fo Westfield, with £SO as a reward for his prompt, and capable action in stopping: a runaway train, at Otahuhu on. the night of' April 17, thus saving the Main Trunk: train from the, possibility of a collision. Inquiry showed that the express driver had seen, the other train,, and had pulled, up before Mr Claude displayed, the red light, and the drived lias, therefore been granted a £lO bonus for keeping a good lookout.
