Considerable interest is being evinced in a matter that came before the Otago Acclimatisation Society at its last meeting. The constable who visited the lagoon—W. Lauder —avers that, while in hiding he saw paradise ducks shot;, and on going forward he found that three members of the Game Committee of the Society were the offenders. The three gentlemen concerned deny the accusation, and the Society has sent the matter back to the police for further information.
