The elections for the Constituent Assembly passed l off without incident, the parties hostile to the Republic not taking part. Practically all of the two hundred and thirty-one deputies returned are Republicans, with a few Socialists. It is expected that there will be no organised opposition in the Assembly. The elections in the Oporto district also passed off tranquilly.
