HOCKEY.
POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay, Hockey Association was held last night, Mr. A. E. Rees presiding. The draw for to-morrow’s matches resulted as follows:.—West End v. Civil Service, at 2.10 p.m. j referee, Mr. A. Rees. City v. Y.M.C.A., at 3.10 p.m.; referee, Mr. 0. R. Olsen. On Saturday next West End meet Civil Service at 3 p.m., on the Childers Road Reserve. The ladies’ match will be between Kowhai and Gisborne ladies, on the High School ground. A letter was received from the New Zealand Hockey Association regarding the cup presented for competition between the smaller unions throughout New Zealand. The letter also stated the first match would be between Poverty Bay and Wairarapa, the place and date of the fixture to be decided later.
