The school children will have a week’s holiday at the time of the Coronation. THE CHRISTCHURCH CELEBRATIONS. A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRSTCHURCH, May 31 Arrangements for the j Coronation celebrations, Christchurch, include a procession of societies, trades, Automobile Association, Teritorials and band. The school children willl- hold a brief separate celebration. The Civil Service Association will participate, and send a congratulatory cablegram through: the Major to the King and Queen. It is proposed to raise a penny subscription to enable school children to send a cablegram. The main committee will issue a booklet _ to commemorate the occasion, including historical essays and celebration programmes, and 10,000 cards will be issued to children. The picture theatres have been secured for three matinee performances, at which special suitable films will be shown, children being admitted free.
