WAIKOHU SHEEP DOG TRIAL CLUB.
FIRST ANNUAL MEETING

The first annual meeting of, the Waikohu County Sheep Dog Trial Club was commenced on Mr.' T. B. Spence’s Te Hau-o-te Atua station on Wednesday, and was continued yesterday. - The weathor was all that could be desired, and the attendance on both days was very large. Mr. R.. Mead’s Pearl, with 284. points, won Class 1 (Zig-Zag Huntaway), and Mr. Bougen’s Chum won Class 2 (Huntaway, bring back and hold), with 29} points. The shepherds’ footrace ivas won by Mr. W. J. Barry. The success of the gathering was. in a large measure due to the generosity of Mr. Spence, who kindly allowed his property and his sheep to he used for the trials.
The following are the results:— Zig-Zag Huntaway, through three sets of flags, about 400 yards. First prize £5, second prize £3, third prize £1 10s, fourth prize £l.—R. Mead’s Pearl, 28} points, 1; Arthur R. Wilson’s Rove, 28 points, 2; P. Marsh’s Rowdy, 25} points, 3; W. Bougen’s Chum, 24 points; T. Brown’s Pip, 23 points; E. Tait, jun.’s Roy, 227} points; E.
