LATE MR. MURDOCH’S ESTATE

The estate of the late Mr. D. L. Murdoch will, it is expected, realise about £70,000. In his will Mr. Murdoch bequeathed £IOOO to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, Auckland, and the balance to connections in Scotland. The private bequest having been made to connections, and not to first-blood relatives, the death duties in the estate will be heavy, and it is stated that the amount which will have to he paid into the New Zealand Consolidated Fund on this account will he about £20,000.
