SOUTH WALES COAL STRIKE.

A mass meeting of strikers at Glamorgan decided that neither Messrs Marbon, Watts nor Morgan should participate in any further negotiations in connection with the Ely pit dispute. A ballot of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers decided on a levy of sixpence p© rhead to support the strikers in South "Wales. The levy will raise £2600 for the strike funds. SHEARING AWARD CASE. SYDNEY, June 10. In the hearing of the shearing award case a shearer gave evidence that it was a common practice to allow slower shearers to use,the names of those, of reputation for fast work in applying for employment. Further evidence was given as to the increased cost of living.
COAL PORTERS' ON STRIKE. (Received June 11, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 10. A coal porters strike at Southampton is hampering shipping.

At Tacoma on the- Pacific Coast, business men advocating an “open shop” policy, met the labor leaders with regard' to federation as the first step in a gigantic fight- to kill organised labor on the coast.

A FATAL AFFRAY

As the result of a- fight bewcen pickets and policemen in connection, with the garment workers’ strike in Cleveland, one man was killed. Seven arrests were made, and one man will be charged with murder,
