A mass meeting of strikers at Glamorgan decided that neither Messrs Marbon, Watts nor Morgan should participate in any further negotiations in connection with the Ely pit dispute. A ballot of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers decided on a levy of sixpence p© rhead to support the strikers in South "Wales. The levy will raise £2600 for the strike funds. SHEARING AWARD CASE. SYDNEY, June 10. In the hearing of the shearing award case a shearer gave evidence that it was a common practice to allow slower shearers to use,the names of those, of reputation for fast work in applying for employment. Further evidence was given as to the increased cost of living.
