WAIHI MINING CRISIS.

AN ABORTIVE CONFERENCE.

THE ATTITUDE OF THE MEN

IPER press associations

WAIHI, June 10

The following resolutions, unanimously passed at a mass meeting of miners on Wednesday last, have now been officially supplied: “That in view of the unoompromising attitude adopted by the mining company’s representatives at the conference yesterday, and your delegates having exhausted all efforts to effect reasonable concessions at the said conference, we immediately hand over the question to the New Zealand Federation of Labor; that in view of the undue criticism levelled against the policy of the. union by irresponsible persons, and the effort to form a scab union, this mass meeting of the Waihi Miners and Workers’ Union express their confidence in the union officials and the policy of the New Zealand Federation of Labor.” , “Scab union” refers to the union that was in course of formation for registration under the Arbitration Act.
