CONCLUDING DAY

Tlie Waikohu County Sheep Dog Trials were concluded at Whatatutu oft Saturday. There was a good attendance and some good work was witnessed. Mr E. Steggall’s Scot won Class 111., head, bring back and hold in ring. Farr, for competitor with, best team of two dogs who lias not been shepherding more than two years, each dog to score at least 15 points in Classes I. and 111. Cup to be Avon twice before becoming absolute property of competitor.—E. Tait, junr., 63 points. Special prize presented 1 - by Mr M. P. Poole, for competitor Avho does the least talking to his dog in Class I. Dog to score not less than 15 points.—R. Mead and L. Wilson 'divide. Gold medal presented by Mr A. R. VoAvles, to be awarded to champion dog, to score 15 points in each class.—W. Bougen, 80£ points. Class- I.—Gold medal, value £2 2s, presented by Mr A. D. Smale, for dog that has not been placed Ist, 2nd or 3rd in a huntaAvay class. — P. Marsh’s Roivdy. Trophy, value £1 Is, presented by Mr J. P. Devery, for drover’s team scoring most points.—J. Herbert. 107 points. Trophy presented by Mr J. Sheridan, for the married shepherd scoring most points with one dog.—E. Steggall’s Scot, 73J points. A social Avas held 1 by the Club at Whatatutu on Friday evening, and! was largely attended. An enjoyable evening’s entertainment resulted, during which the majority of the prizes Avon were distributed.
