THE LONDON MARKETS.

HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.;! WELLINGTON, June 12. The High Commissioner’s report, dated London June 10th, states: Mutton market is steady, with a moderate demand. Holders are firm. Lamb. —There; is a good demand for all lamb. There is an endeavor amongst holders to raise the .price of lambs. Beef.—Stocks of New Zealand beef on hand are light: Prices are firmer. Supplies of American chilled beef are large. Butter. —The market is favorably affected on account of the dry weather. There is a better demand. Cheese. —The market has recovered. There is a better demand. Hemp.—-The market is steady, and prices are well maintained. There is a better demand for forward delivery. The output from Manila for the week was 25,000 bales. Wheat.—The market is very quiet. There is nothing doing. Prices are nominal. ' The pork market is flat. There is scarcely any demand, the weather' being too 'hot.
