GISBORNE PASTIMES CLUB.

FIRST GENERAL MEETING

The first general meeting of members of the Gisborne Pastimes Club was held at the Club rooms, Lysnar’s Hall, last evening. There was an attendance of about 40 gentlemen, and Air K. 0. DeCent. treasurer, presided. The first business taken was the election of officers for the ensuing year, which resulted as follows:—Patron, His Worship the Mayor (Air W. D. Lysnar); president, Dr. J. Clive Collins; vicepresidents. Messrs George Smith, R. T. Seymour, J. B. Leydon, W. Lissant Clayton, C. Alorse, D. J.. Barry, R. F.Houlihan, AT. Keady, H. Airey, and Con. Neenan; hon. secretary, Mr D. J. Alellor;. hon. treasurer, Mr Iv. 0. De Cent; committee, Messrs AI. OuthberC (chairman), J. Healy; A. Stenner, G. Richardson o'.- Church, A. Adair, P. Gordon, L.‘ Redstone, W. Seymour. W. Wilkinson, W. Haugliie, E. Fox and A. Taylor. . ' Chief instructors for the various branches of sport to be carried on by the Club were appointed as under.: —- Boxing, Air J. ‘Healy; wrestling, Mi* S. Lewis; gymnastics, Mr G. Richardson. It was- decided to hold: an open night once in each month, and that the committee should meet on Alonday, July 3rd, to draw up a. programme for tlie first open night. » ■- It was decided that boys under 16 and school boys should be admitted to membership at half rates. The subscription for honorary members was fixed at 10s.

It was agreed that the Club rooms should be available for the use of members every evening in the week, with the exception of Tuesday and Saturday, and that the rooms should also be open every Saturday afternoon. The Club at present has a membership of 50, and it is anticipated that this'number wi11... be largely increased when operations are properly started.
