I PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! ♦ WELLINGTON, June 12, In reference to the observance of Coronation Day as a holiday and the difficulty created owing to another holiday (the Prince of Wales’ Birthday) following, the Hon. J. A. Afillar has written to Mr Pryor, secretary of the Employers’ Federation, stating*that the Goverarmienib' cannot see its way to incorporatel ‘the Prince of Wales’ Birthday with the Coronation holiday; the latter being a holiday of national importance fixed throughout- the whole Empire. Although: the Government does not intend .to -observe the Prince of Wales’ Birthday as a public holiday, it cannot interfere in any way with, awards of the Arbitration Court by declaring that that day/ shall be observed on-; another day which is a'national .holiday, arid, which lias been: proclaimed for a specific purpose,
